July 12, 2010 By: Guitarizm Category: Gift of Guitar

While there’s actually not much wrong with making your own videos and releasing them on YouTube – in fact I completely recommend that you do – there’s a very potent technique to get thousands of visitors, either to your own videos, your band’s web site, or better yet , a promotional offer like “join up to our contact list to get our new single for free”, or some other such thing, by simply paying other YouTube users to include a link to your internet site within their outline box.

*Tip* For more great tips on Music marketing go to Promote Your Music Online or Promote Your Music Squidoo

If you don’t quite know what I am talking about go to Youtube and search the most viewed videos. You need to find a few examples of videos with the link within the description box.

To the right of the video you must see a link. This is an example of what I am talking about.

To do that you simply take these steps.

Search YouTube with keywords that relate in some form to your song or your band. For example, if you had done a cover of smells similar to teenager Spirit you could search words like Nirvana, smells like teenager Spirit, Grunge, etc .

Next, sort the results by “view count”. You’re looking for videos with hundreds of thousands, or even millions of views. Disregard any videos that are posted by the artist themselves or any videos that actually have a link in the description box.

Then all you have to do is send the users of relevant videos a message explaining that you would like to pay them on a monthly bases to put your link in there outline box.

You may likely only find that 1 in every 10 or twenty folk have an interest in your offer, but if even one link on a highly viewed video can suggest thousands of new visitors, and potential new fans every month.

This is just the top of the iceberg.

*Note* I would recommend that you use this technique with second tier record companys initially and then try your hand with he bigger boys once you have some singles and a good sales previous record under your belt. Perhaps even try and get a music publishing contract first.

Most major labels would like to see that you have had some success on your own before taking the danger and offering you a big advance.

But to be totally honest with you for an instant, the concept of getting a record deal for me is a real turn off nowadays. I have discovered a simple system to make a list of fans and sell my music that’s totally new to the music biz.

This stuff is truly cool and you must definitely examine it below.

With that acknowledged I am doing hope you enjoyed learning how to get a recording contract and if you have any feedback or questions please let me know. You will be getting tons more free music marketing guides form me over the approaching months.
